Dedicated to publishing lesser-known Japanese titles in the United States, Atlus U.S.A. is best known for classically styled console role playing games such as Ogre Battle, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, and Magna Carta: Tears of Blood. Created in 1991, Atlus has obtained North American publishing rights for many Japanese titles, including the Nekketsu Kouha: Kunio-Kun and Double Dragon franchises.
Atlus' parent company since 2006, Index Holdings merged their subsidiaries effectively eliminating Atlus U.S.A. as a company in 2010. While Atlus U.S.A. was renamed Index Digital Media, Inc., they continue to publish video games under the brand name of Atlus. ~ All Game Guide
