Review

After a lengthy battle with a massive stone golem, who just happens to wear the giant face of a baby as a mask, I land a few gratuitous shots with my samurai sword, and am then prompted to teleport my hair into hell, where it summons a huge wolf-demon that proceeds to kill and swallow the giant golem, thus ensuring the safety of the 5-year-old with whom I’m traveling.  Sound insane?  After a few hours with Bayonetta, a scene like this is downright humdrum.

  • Super Mario Advance

This game is actually 2-in-1! It has Super Mario Bros. 2 (modified and cleaned up version of the original NES game) and the Classic Arcade Mario Bros. game (the arcade game with the POW block down in the center if you remember your classics). You can play Mario Bros. with 4 players simultaniously. Super Mario Bros. 2 is a single player side-scroller where you choose between Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad (all with different special powers) to complete it.

  • GoDai: Elemental Force

In the still of night, the queen lays her newborn son in his crib as a shadow steals past the window. She looks up and sees nothing. She hears only silence. And then, a sound behind the wall, the telltale soft metallic song of a blade being carefully drawn from its scabbard. The king turns to seek out the source of the sound, only to hear several similar tones echo through the night just outside the paper walls. Quickly, he reaches for his own weapon, but it's already too late.
Thus begins the tale of Godai: Elemental Force. The game features fast-paced stealth gameplay, and allows you to engage your enemies with hand-to-hand, sword, and projectile weapon attacks. You'll set out on a quest through the trials of the four spirit elements (Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire) in 16 breathtaking levels. You can survey your surroundings with a 360-degree cinematic KinetiCam, and make use of eight play modes, one player campaign, and seven styles of two-player head-to-head. The game includes new weather and environmental effects, including night, rain, fog, and "pool of light" sources such as torches, fire pits, etc., that will immerse the player into the story and action. The wide selection of weapons includes katana blades, twin blades, throwing spikes, shuriken, smoke bombs, and elemental magic. Godai: Elemental Force also features a simple pick-up-and-play default control scheme.
