Geoff Johns, notorious in the comic industry for being very cryptic and secretive, may have let the cat out of the bag as far as Sony Online's planned DC Universe MMO. In an interview with MTV's Splash Page blog, Johns mentioned the game would hopefully be out by the end of 2009, or early 2010 at the latest. While the interview didn't reveal any details on story or gameplay, getting a vague date from the writer sort of qualifies as important.

I'm looking forward to this MMO as it will be the first time I think I commit fully to playing an online multiplayer game that doesn't involve capturing flags. I just hope there's room for me in the Green Lantern Corps. Gamervision will have more on this title soon, as we've got DCU MMO interviews of our own in the works, so stay tuned.
