Things More Likely to Survive a Nuclear War Than You Are
Posted 9 months, 3 weeks ago by aquaghost23

An article originally posted on  CNET ,lists the "most trusty" technology, and look at what has made the list...my former babysitter and best friend, GameBoy Classic.  I played the crap out of this.  Great games like Tetris, Super Mario World, and Kirby's Dreamland kept my little ADHD mind occupied for hours and hours and hours after school when I was home alone.  Good times.

This is no surprise to those of us who remember it ,(GameBoy came out in 1989, I was 5 and I got mine at 8) this piece of gaming hardware was a brick and could survive anything.  I was dumb and put masking tape all around mine thinking that the tape would preserve the little handheld brick o joy, but heat and time make fools of us all, or just me, and I ended up with black sticky goo and peeling tape all around my GameBoy.  It still worked and I had it for several years until the GameBoy Color came out all slim and colorful-like.

It's so funny how we reminisce about old out-dated technology, but those were some of the best days of gaming that I can remember

I have my original Gameboy for chillaxing in the loo. Nothing soothes the mind and body like a game of HORSE against Larry Bird in ALL STAR BASKETBALL.

Have you ever been to Nintendo World? They've got a melted Gameboy on display that was found in a barrack that was bombed during Desert Storm. And it still works!
