- Sonic Unleashed Gameplay Footage

Kotaku's got a good two minutes of gameplay footage up of Sonic Unleashed. Now, the weird werewolf thing notwithstanding, this reminds me a lot of the gameplay of Sonic's sections from Sonic Adventure, and that's a good thing.
From the looks of it, the game's going to be split between sidescrolling (Yay!) and something closer to an on rails shooter, minus the shooting. The video definitely gives a strong sense of speed, and the music matches it wonderfully.
I gotta say, this is the first time I've been excited about a Sonic game for quite a while now. Hopefully the werewolf stuff (WTF is up with that, anyway?) will be as good as this gameplay looks.

This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Gameplay looks solid and I can't wait to try it out.
I'm with Tim on this one. It looks like they made it a bit more self-controlled, so you're not constantly running into the wall at every sharp turn. This should keep the game play flowing nicely, something all other 3D sonic games have failed at. (I actually made a short comment!)
I'm gonna have reserved enthusiasm. That's the best I can do.
