Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball Interview Answers
Posted 9 months, 2 weeks ago by Coop

A few weeks ago, Gamervision gave you, the community, the chance to ask Blazing Lizards questions about their upcoming title, Pirates vs Ninjas Dodgeball. You asked, and they have answered. Be sure to eat an orange while you read this interview, scurvy would be one hell of a way to go.

------------------

1. What platforms are currently planned for releases? Is there any chance of a Wii version? Will any of them have motion controls?

Right now, the 360 version is the only one we’re talking about.  However, if anybody out there would like to see other versions please email us!

2. What went into the character design? The characters look drastically different.

All characters share a similar artistic visual style, however, their appearances do drastically differ based on what team they are on.  We came up with a design that was both visually pleasing and matched with the theme of the game.

3. Is the game side-scrolling or free-roaming?

Teams can free-roam around the court.  There are no sides in our version of Dodgeball.

4. Is co-op a story mode or just online multiplayer?

We do have support for co-op in story mode.

5. Can the characters be customized with different outfits or abilities? Are there multiple versions of each character?

No, character’s cannot be customized.  And no there aren’t multiple versions of characters (thus players can’t play same team vs games.)

6. Are the different types of players going to be evenly balanced, or will one have a clear advantage over another?

We’ve gone to great lengths trying to balance the game for everyone.

7. Will there be earnable/unlockable skills?

Not for this iteration of PvND.  However, if there were a sequel I would like to add this plus a customization element to the game.

8. Are there items in the game?

No, we were originally going to have some form of power-ups but strayed away when we deemed it would add too much complexity to the game.

9. How many levels will there be? What are some of the themes?

4 levels to go along with the 4 teams.  We have a beach level (Pirates), winter forest (Ninjas), factory (Robots), and graveyard (Zombies).

10. What are the different teams like? Durability, quickness, ect.

Each team has their own stats to make them different but balanced from each other.  For example, Ninjas have more stamina and are quicker but have weaker throws compared to Pirates.

11. Any chance for a movie port?

Ha!  I’d prefer to see a Saturday morning cartoon depicting this epic battle!

The game is due out on Q2 of 2008 on the Xbox Live Arcade. We would like to thank Blazing Lizards for this opportunity, and remind gamers to stay tuned to Gamervision for more opportunities to speak to developers. So, anyone else excited for this fun looking arcade title?
