Lucasarts has released a video detailing the painstaking process they have gone through to make the different game engines in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed work together. The Havok engine is being used for the general physics in the game, the Euphoria system is used to give the enemies “biomechanical AI,” and their digital molecular mass engine is used to make environmental elements react as they should. Here is the video:
I do think the game looks good - don't get me wrong. The problem is that they seem to be going a little too far with the Euphoria engine. By the end of the video it looks more like a floating dancing game than a Star Wars game. Maybe they need to add in the chance for the person to not think that grabbing the nearest ankles is the best way to be safe.
What is the middle ground? How could they fix this? Do they get rid of the feature or just tone it down a bit?
