Chronicles of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena Trailer Hits
Posted About 1 month ago by Coop

If you're like me, words can barely describe the rage at whatever dullard decides which original Xbox games will be emulated to work on the Xbox 360. Certain titles, like Barbie Horse Adventures, were among the first to receive the conversion while others, like The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, did not.

I was an unabashed hater of the original Xbox (lol more like M$ Xsux), so I never had a chance to play the game that most people wont shut up the hell up about. No, not Barbie Horse Adventures, of course I made time for that one. I mean Riddick, which was supposed to be one of the best FPS of the generation. The concept of an official remake hitting the Xbox 360 next year makes me very, very happy. Add in new features and an expanded campaign turning the ten hour shooter into a twenty hour epic and you have a game that should ship with drool receptacles.

The first footage is above and damn does it look impressive. Hopefully the reason Tigon delayed The Wheelman was to get some more people polishing this game up, because if it ends up being half as good as it looks in that footage we’re in for a wild ride next year.

It is a remake of Escape from Butcher Bay. It's the entire original game, with a few additions, plus a new second campaign on the Dark Athena ship.

Wasn't this originally a remake of Escape from Butcher Bay, or something like that? Which I never actually got a chance to play. I wanted to, but never did. No matter what people say I think that the character of Riddick is fun to watch and has some decent one-liners.

I loved Escape from Butcher Bay, so I will definitely be checking this out when it's released.

Hmm. Maybe I'll wait on this one, though.

Escape from Butcher Bay was followed up with an extra-featured PC release. Obviously you're busy with holiday season games, but if you ever slow down and you actually do want to play it hunt that PC version down.
