The highest budgeted porn ever...soon on your PS3!
During the Great War for our high-definition hearts there have been good arguments on both sides. Blu-Ray has PS3 support and a larger disk capacity, HD-DVD has porn. Some people believed that the porn industry’s support for VHS was the final nail in the coffin for Betamax and that HD-DVD having support from the porn industry was a sign that they were to win.
Things have changed, and just as Warner Brothers has made the jump to Blu-Ray exclusivity so has Digital Playground, one of the largest pornographic film distributors. This marks one of the last great arguments for HD-DVD to win the race. Sadly there is only one left: Sony makes Blu-Ray. Over the years, any format Sony puts their name on has died a sad and painful death.
So far this curse, which we refer to as the "Sony Curse," looks to be close to an end. It started with Betamax, moved to Laserdisk, most recently fell onto UMDs, and was thought to continue to Blu-Ray. If things continue on their path we will soon be playing frisbee with HD-DVDs and Sony will be bathing in cash.
