Force Unleashed Dated for September
Posted 5 months ago by Coop

As we reported to a skeptical world, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was delayed from its original April release date. Also, as we reported, the date has been shifted to September. Lucasarts has confirmed that the game is now due for a September 16th America, September 17th in Southeast Asia and Australia, and September 19th in Europe.

Wow, Lucasarts putting PAL territories behind Australia? That is a first. They are noooot going to be happy.

I’d do the “we were right” dance, but this is just too damn depressing to be happy about. While the game looks amazing I can’t help but feel it is too good to be true. Everyone who has actually had a chance to sit down with the game came back with complaints of laggy gameplay and a stuttering framerate, and hopefully this delay will solve those issues. I couldn’t see it being pushed back any further then that, though, as a September date would set it in a perfect position for unlimited holiday power!!!!!

For anyone who doesn't know, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed puts players in charge of Darth Vader's (voiced by Chad Vader) apprentice, who is currently unnamed (I am banking on Charlie!). The title is in reference to the game's focus - unbelievable force powers.

But, do you buy the Wii version for the extra content: this is the question?

Maybe next time other news outlets won't doubt our super-secret sources.

I've been excited about this since last E3. Nice to see the release date finally oficially announced. It's been posted everywhere else for a long time now, but now it's official!

I actually see this as a good sign. They wouldn't release it for the holidays if it wasn't going to be at least somewhat decent. Right?
