- UPDATE: Full DS Games Downloadable From the Wii?

UPDATE: The NY Times, again, screwed up. None of this information is true. GG, fact checkers. GG.
The NY Times has an abysmal record when it comes to video games. No more then a month ago did they post an article referring to Gran Turismo 5 having been released on the $299 PS3 which is competing with the Xbox 360’s cell processor.
Being as ignorant to the industry as they have been it makes sense to take all they say with great scrutiny, especially when it isn’t in quotes. In an article about the Nintendo DS and Wii (note: they are both selling well) they had talked to Reggie Fils-Amie about the future of connectivity between the two products.
This could mean a number of different things. DS games could be added to the Virtual Console or even Wii Ware. Sadly, with the Wii’s small amount of internal memory and the DS’s even smaller amount, this news story is really hard to swallow. What good is downloading a DS game if you can’t store it on your DS? Unless Nintendo is looking to trump Sony’s Remote Play, this entire concept looks to be a scuttlebutt of information on behalf of our misinformed friends over at the NY Times.Mr. Fils-Amie said that future DS device will be more tightly integrated with its Wii console. Complete games as well as game samplers will be able to be downloaded into the Wii using its broadband connection, and then transferred wirelessly to the DS. -source
