SCi Changes its Name to Eidos
Posted About 1 month ago by Coop

Well, time to take out the digital white out for all of those e-mails. SCi Entertainment has officially, completely, and irreversibly taken the name of its better-known subsidiary, Eidos. There are many reasons for this change, not the least of which is the recent rumor that the company is close to being bought out by either EA or Ubisoft - it would definitely make the inevitable paperwork much less confusing. Then again, woah, does that mean Eidos now owns Eidos? Awkwaaaaaard...

Eidos hasn’t been doing too well recently. Many members of their PR team (mostly overseas) have dropped the ball on supporting journalistic integrity, and their games haven’t really been AAA, leading to falling stocks and falling opinions. So, in case it ever comes up at a bar or in romantic conversation, it's Eidos, not SCi, people.

I feel like all these game companies are sitting at some Alice in Wonderland tea party. And every few minutes somebody says, "Change Places!" and they all shuffle around ownership.
