- Sins of a Solar Empire Gets Updated
- Posted About 1 month ago by Coop

One of the biggest PC titles of the year, Sins of a Solar Empire, has received its long-awaited 1.1 Update, bringing numerous additions to the space RTS. It’s worth noting that this might be the only PC title of the year to go months without needing any major patches or updates. Stardock believes in releasing finished products, not needing to complete any patchwork after the fact, which is a commendable act in an industry obsessed with releasing half-finished products. Here’s the change log, which has more new features and balances than it does “fixes.”
Highlights from the 1.1 change log include:
- Alloy Networking Technology – allows for seamless multiplayer without needing to deal with port forwarding or other router settings
- Major upgrade to the graphics engine for better performance on all systems
- Updated/improved graphics (textures, new models, explosions and more)
- Mini-Underground Window – allows you to buy/sell resources and make pirate bids on the main gameplay screen
- Improved game balance
- Improved AI
- Bug fixes and much more
Enhanced graphics? Sign me the hell up. It was already pretty, as the screen above shows, I can't wait to see what they did with it. You can click here for an massive, huge, expanded list with pages and pages of stuff I don't understand. I only had a chance to mess around with Sins for a little bit, and definitely want more time with it in the near future (once this silly holiday season is over). For fans of the game, though, this should be all they need to keep their Empire expanding.
