- Square-Enix Makes Eidos Bid
- Posted About 1 month ago by Coop

Square-Enix has been trying to adapt to the times recently, realizing that Eastern game development has been slowly falling behind the West. Embracing the Xbox 360, using the Unreal Engine, and trying to create more multiplatform games seemed to be their solution, but their most recent attempt is really shocking. Sinking ship Eidos (formerly SCi) has been rumored to be up for purchase for some time now, and Square-Enix has decided to throw its hat into the race. It’s still thought that Warner Brothers, who already owns some of the company, will be the deciding factor, but a Squeenix buyout would be nothing short of amazing.
It’s unbelievably out of character, but will make for some fantastic levels in the next Kingdom Hearts. Just imagine Sora teaming up with Kane and Lynch to rob a bank, or trying to elude a darkness aligned Hitman.
They seem to be very serious about this - Global president Yoichi Wada has plans to visit Eidos UK’s headquarters to help move the deal forward. So, aside from the obligatory Tomb Raider RPG jokes, what does everyone thing of this? I’d prefer it to Warner Brothers, but I’m not sure it would be in the best interest of either company. We’ve reached Eidos for a response, so stay tuned to Gamervision for the story as it develops.

Such a bizarre pairing, but who knows? Maybe it will work.
@Murakumo:
If Sqeenix brings back Legacy of Kain, they'll probably wind up making it into a different game. A "re-imaging" if you will to make the series their own.
Otherwise, WHY SONY? WHY NOT MAKE SENSE?
oh yea.....what???
As long as they don't bring Fear Effect back, I'll be happy.
Moar Legacy of Kain plz. XD
This makes zero sense.
