- Star Wars: the Force Unleashed to Include Waggle
- Posted 11 months, 3 weeks ago by Coop
We want a Wii lightsaber game. I could go into a dissertation about how “since the Wii was first announced…” but I don’t think I even need to go into that. We all know what we want, and Lucasarts has said they will eventually get it working. They have also said that the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is not the place to look for 1:1 motion controls with the lightsaber, but according to the newest issue of Gameinformer it doesn’t mean we should count it out entirely.
GoNintendo posted a tip that the controls will work like so:
- Swing Wiimote to attack with lightsaber (direction matters, but motion is not 1:1)
- Motion controls for force powers
- Push Nunchuck forward while holding a trigger to use Force Push
- Full motion control details are still being worked out
It sounds good, and I do like the idea of direction being important. I don’t even think that it is that big of a deal to not have 1:1 as long as timing and direction is still important. We aren’t master fencers – we are gamers. The force commands being tied to basic movements should also turn out intuitive and fun. I can't wait to choke a Stormtrooper with the Wiimote and throw him with the Nunchuk.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is due out on 4/08/08.

Uhhhh...that's sweet. I wanna be a Jedi.
February is looking like a good month for the Wii, psyched.
If you haven't waggled you haven't really lived yet......
