My original draft of this was titled "There's an Aztec in my Tetris", but then I realized the game is more similar, if not exactly the same, as Lumines.
So, the premise of the game is, you're a young tribe member of this village that's about to be destroyed by displeased gods. The Shaman has sent you to seek out the aid of a sacred Totem to stop the cataclysm. Doing so includes where you must match blocks on a grid.
Gameplay is just what you would expect to comparing it to Tetris and Lumines. You move an Aztec-Looking block holder back and force, and use it to match up massive squares or rectangles of a certain color. Once matched they poof. Along the way you can nab powerups with your little paddle thing, with effects like raining fire from the sky to knock the grid down a little, to destroying a mess of them with spears.
Alas, the Trial Game only lasts about as long as a tutorial and one full stage. So you'll finish the sample in less than ten minutes, more or less. I was personally hoping for at least one more level to sink my teeth into and to let it grow on me.
Buy or Straight Try?: If it had been a straight Tetris knockoff, I would have been compelled to buy it, but with the Lumines factor in play, I have to say, unless you also enjoyed Lumines, pass and just try the trial once.

The game would be good, if not for the half assed controls that responds whenever it feels like it.
I did love Lumines, so maybe this one's wrth buying. I'll play the demo tonight and see how it goes.
