Bio: My name is John. Im a student, Im poor, and overall I am horribly addicted to Xbox 360. Im not easy to please when it comes to games. Ive been around since the start of this whole video game thing, and owned nearly every system. So I expect a lot from the industry i funded in my younger days.

Quite possibly changed my entire life when the first title was released on the original Playstation.
-
The greatest RPG from the greatest RPG company known to man.
-
The idea of killing for money in the comfort of your own living room always got me. I may be the only person on Earth who advocates this game to everyone (even children).

You cant beat the best.

So many possibilities.

He is the reason I started reading comics.

He does what he wants, and he does what we all wish we could do every once in a while.

There is no X-man that means more to me. And yes that does mean that I am not big on Wolverine. Sorry guys.
-
He is my favorite anti-hero. Even above the Punisher.

This is what I want all comics to be like. He's a drunk, he's broken, he's insane, and hes back!

I cant even tell you how long I've been waiting for a version of Fallout that suites my type of gameplay. I generally hate turn based combat, but the idea of this installment has got me drueling. Thank you Bethesda for giving a crap about a franchise that has been held down by the industry for so many years.

500,000 guns?!!! Is that even legal? If this game lets me live out my Mad Max fantasies then Im all game.

I get a lot of crap for showing my distaste in the Halo franchise. They tell me its the greatest thing ever made. They spend millions on commercials to explain to me why its the greatest. They even convince the entire gaming community to show me how great it really really is. But when i get home and pop it in the Xbox, I cant find the greatness anywhere. Maybe it's a physical entity that is laying behind the instruction manual, or maybe they forgot to put the greatness into my halo box. Whatever happened, the game lacks.
Halo: Combat Evolved changed the industry. I will agree to that, but Halo 2 shortened the single player experience, revamped old levels, and added dual-weilding. They then acted as if dual-weilding was never around before Halo. They must have never played GoldenEye or Duke Nukem. But I digress.
I didn't buy into the 3rd installments hype because Halo 2 proved nothing to me as a shooter fan (though multiplayer was improved). And now Im hearing that people are beating this game within anywhere from 2-6 hours. Just market Halo as a multiplayer franchise like Counter-Strike, and charge me $40. Then Ill buy into it. Otherwise, good riddence to Master Chief and all his bad platoon's AI.

Now I generally keep myself out of the sports games, but I remember at one time loving Madden 98'. When Madden 2001 came out and changed the look of football games forever, I nearly cried at the beauty. But its been a good 6 years since then and I havent seen anything graphically from EA on this title. The last 3 Madden titles have merged together for me that I cant tell them apart anymore. My brother loves them and buys them every year, but you gotta wonder how much the gameplay and updated rosters are really worth. Its the only franchise that goes down 80% in price over a period of 6 months. I wont rag on Madden as bad as I do Halo, but I dont see the point of paying $60 a year on it. And as a side note, way to go EA on aquiring the rights to the NFL. Low blow to your competition. You must be playing for keeps.

Ok how long ago was it that "Saving Private Ryan" came out? According to my research, since 1998 over 44 WW2 era shooters have been released. Keep in mind that all 44 games spawned from about 8 franchises total. Does this mean that after 44 games, I am supposed to be excited about WW2 anymore. It's like beating a dead horse. We get it. WW2 sucked, soldiers formed bonds, and people cried all the time. No more. Thank you Call of Duty 4 for finally getting this!
-
What's up 3D Realms? How many times you gonna change your engine? Oh whats that?... its been how long?.... you dont like people asking about a game you promised 8 years ago? Man Up and deliver! Its been so long that I might start to forget what Duke even looks like. Also ironic title choice. Call me when your done, but Ill probably screen you.

High Definition Movie Players
|
details
|
Heres the thing. Lets say i actually thought that having HD technology was really important, compared to my DVD technology (which I dont). Thats great, so I have my HDTV ready to go after dropping 1000 bucks or so. Super. Now I want to get two movies; DieHard 4 and Transformers. Simple right? I just walk into BestBuy and pick up an HD-DVD player and the two films right? ...... WRONG. Here is the deal. You want Transformers in HD you better spend money on an HD-DVD player, but If you want DieHard 4 you better have double the amount of money to pick up a BlueRay player as well. Thats right people, the movie studios that have been complaining about bad revenue are now making you choose which HD player you need depending on the films availible for it. Why? Because two studios want to push seperate tachnologies. However Dreamworks has chosen that all of its films will be HD-DVD with the exception of all Steven Spielberg films. They want all the profit from his big movies. Michael Bay is a turd, but he did stand up for the abolishment of this new sales motive by backing out of Transformers 2. However everyone can be bought and he is back. So heres my point people. HD is nice, but for someone like me who doesnt want to blow thousands of dollars on it, I am going to stick to DVD. Screw you Hollywood. I dont accept your technology. Hows that feel? Most of your movies from the last 5 years still suck. Bite me.

Sorry guys, but Im tired of waiting for something that isnt even coming out for 360. $599 for a PS3, and $59.99 for Metal Gear 4. Im basically paying $706.13 for the only game worth owning on PS3? Screw that. You want my money Konami? Release your game on 360 and set a freaking date. Until its on 360, I no longer care. It's sad, but I'm not gonna loose sleep over not having Metal Gear 4. The difference between a game like this and GTA4 is the simple fact that I dont have to worry about buying a new system.

Hurt the people at Dimension Films if they ruin Hellraiser...
|
details
|
You wanna re-visit the first Hellraiser film? Fine! Rent it and you can re-visit it as many times as you want. But you dont wanna use the word "re-make" because you dont wanna make the public think that you are going to ruin a perfectly good character. How about you remake one of the many "straight to DVD" bad sequels that followed after Hellraiser III. It worked with Halloween and Rob Zombie, but I will promise you this Dimension Films: If you mess this up I will hurt you. And yes that is a threat. :)

Buy Every Issue of the Darkness
|
details
|
I think out of all recent comic companies, topcow reigns supreme with its Darkness series, and so I have decided to collect every single issue known to man. However, I will refrain from buying every single variant cover. If there is a variant cover for an issue, I will get it rather than the regular print. I cant wait to have them all and read them all.

This company has wronged me. Hell, they have wronged us as gamers. First the PS3, and now they have pushed BlueRay so hard that different movie studios are now releasing HD movies exclusivly. So If I wanted to watch Die Hard 4 in HD, I would have to buy an BlueRay player. But if I wanted to watch Transformers in HD, I would have to buy an HD-DVD player. Thanks Sony for making me uninterested in BlueRay. I hope you end up shooting yourself in the foot! In so many words...... **** YOU!

The Darkness (360) rating: 8/10
|
details
|
Being a major fan of the source material, I found this game to be really enjoyable. Not to mention that the minds behind the Riddick game know how to create a realistic atmoshpere. I will admit that the action can seem kind of sparse in certain areas in the game, and I found myself asking "shouldn't there be guys here to kill?" However the gun battles are very tough if you dont have control of the darkness. The difficulty level makes up for the lesser amount of enemies. The game does have a few glitches that I came across such as one NPC doing two animations at the same time. Other than that the game is solid and gives me what I want as a darkness fan. Once you master the darkness powers, learn the surroundings, and start unleashing fury, the game really delivers. You can start to hear the fear in the enemies voices when the lights go out. I definetly recomend this to anyone that is a comic fan, and loves a shooter with a different edge. Otherwise rent it.

FarCry Instincts (360) rating: 9/10
|
details
|
I remember playing the first FarCry for the PC and falling in love. Instincts does not disappoint. The control scheme lends itself to a learning curve, especially if you forget the many different stances and weapon options. And in this game, standing up at the wrong time will get you killed. The AI is tough, just like the PC version, the continuous level is massive, and the graphics (though not as grand as the PC) make use of blurs, and motion effects. The water is amazing. The multiplayer is fun for the most part, and the random level creator leaves limitless possibilities for physics play! Pick this one up, and dont miss out. Plus it's cheap now.

Transformers (360) rating: 7/10
|
details
|
This game surprised me. I was pumped about the film, and picked it up with the idea that I would probably hate it. However it really does deliver on a smaller scale. Yes the game is not super thought out, and the missions are very linear. However the battles and transforming really tend to make up for it. The downfall is that you can feel as if your doing the same thing over and over, and sometimes the game doesnt allow you to feel like your totally in control of the outcome. Lets face it, collecting transformer icons to unlock things doesnt really feel like anything but lazy game filler. However I would say that it is worth a rent, and maybe a buy if you're a fan of the series.

hey friend! how've you been?
Hey, don't forget about the Gamervision GTA IV event on Sunday night at 9:00, eastern time. Send me or any other GV staffers your Xbox Live Gamertag, and we'll invite you over. All of Gamervision looks forward to running you over and lighting you up with rockets!
Where you been holmes?
Congrats on winning the contest.......
Well, could we knock over a blood bank? That way we would still get some street cred, and we would be prepared for the Kane and Lynch 2 contest.
Congrats on winning the contest. I had you pegged as the favorite. Nice work man!!
I just got to Damascus. I don't even care what the mission is. Jumping rooftop to rooftop is enough to sate me for hours.
Oh man... your Kane picture scared me in a thumbnail, but seeing a bigger version frightens me even more!! Good job!
i also forgot to mention the excellent beard... well done!
what a legendary broken nose shot!
Dude... it looks like someone shot your nose and it splattered on the wall! Well done!
tell me you are loving the game as much as i am.
DEAL!!!
this will be tough to beat....
Great broken nose picture!
I like your broken nose. =3
YOUR NAME IS JASON!!!!!!!
stop hating on the ps3, yo! also, who the hell is this john you refer to in your bio?
Assassin's Creed looks uh-mazing. I would give that game a shot in a heartbeat. The interactions is the biggest hype they've got going right now about it, but I wont lie... I know a gorgeous game when I see one.
Is the cat yours?
