Videogames and Movie Titles
Posted About 1 year ago by LionHeadTM

I was actually talking to someone last night about Videogames and Movies.

Why do they suck balls? Is it because of the game developers? Or is it because of the movie? Where does it start? We were talking about Final Fantasy and somehow transformed into movies. Let's name of the mistakes that the makers of movies and/or games. We'll start off with Games after Movies.

1. Catwoman. *gag* Two terribles that just sunk the title so far deep into the hole. Catwoman wasn't even a movie that should've been brought up. She was in batman, should've been said and done there. But nooope. Now... I do like Hale Berry. She is a sweetheart. May I say how slamdunk gorgeous she looked in James Bond? Whoa... But it kind of... lowered her level when she landed a role in Catwoman. The Game... just... bad... Camera angles... the thing where you don't do anything for a few seconds, it'll cut out and she would... lick stuff movie scene. It's just the basic game design.

2. Harry Potter. I haven't played the games, but I heard that they are another that just suck. Harry Potter isn't so bad to read. I actually read the first 4 books. It's a good read, but I never really submersed myself into the whole thing where I would put posters up or buy robes or whatever... The scarves are cute though. e.e Anyway, It was a good book series, a pretty good movie series, but the games are just a no no. I think that if they were to make a game, that they should take the year or 2, maybe 3 or 4 to actually make something that will knock our socks off. Once again, it's just like those common, basic games that don't really say "hey, that's neat".

3. Disney based Games. Ok, I admit it. I know it's children games, but I think now is the time to start stepping up on the game development, even if they are kids. Because think about it. Let's say there are parents out there that would watch tv with their kids. Now... the parents are older and they know what they want and what they don't. What if they want to play with their kids? There should be a game that would actually make the parents be like "whoa, this is neat!" and they could tell their friends about it and just would be an awesome family videogame. I don't think they have enough out there.

Now let's get to the ... well... only game that's really worth it.

1. The Hulk. This is the only game that I know of that is modeled after a movie, but actually turned out to be better than the movie itself (which is sad for the movie). The gameplay is decent and just... the destruction you can cause with one big green dude that happens to look like the Green Giant (you know... the bean guy) on Steriods. It's exciting just running around the city and just smashing stuff. That is basically the game itself.

Movies after Games:

1. Silent Hill. This movie is really straddles the line for me, but I think that the quality makes me want to pull it over to a good side. I will let you know this... I'm really terrified of scary zombie movies and games. I will NOT play a zombie game because... *cough* zombies ... are a bit of a fear of mine... *cough cough* Anyway. I would catch little glimpses of the game here and there, and I remember how filthy and dirty, and dark it was. It was just... plain weird. I think it's called... abnormal fear? well anyway, I watched this movie with a friend of mine back... what... January? and i will say that the movie really followed up somewhat nicely there. Like the part where Pyramid head got ahold of that girl and ripped her skin off? Oooooh so sweet. I can tell you that when i saw that, I was so into it at the time, that I swear that when he/it snapped the skin, that I almost felt the blood splatter on me. hahaha. yeaaah... good times... But that night, when I got home (it was about 2:30 am when I got home), that I ran to my house like a kid with a bag of crack running from the cops. I live right next to a mountian so it's about 50 yards from my house, that I could invision monsters just... stomping down the mountain for me. I ran like a mofo. hahahah.

2. Hitman. I never played hitman, plus I never watched the movie (if it came out yet), but I'm not sure about this one. I have yet to update anyone on this.

3. Resident Evil. *sigh* I don't know what to say for these... I mean... After Res. Evil 4 came out, it really knocks all the other games out of play. I hear that it's the best game of practially all time. I watched videos of it, and I must say, ... wow. I would really love to get rid of my fears just to play this game. However... I can't say much about the movies. The game series is really incredible, but I don't think the movies can live up to it. When the 2nd movie came out, I was B to the O R E D. I didn't even bother with the 3rd movie. I'm just so done with it. It's not terrifying, and it's not really awesome.

I wish I could make a game after Saw or The Devils Rejects, Teen Witch
and
I wish I could make a movie after Gears of War.

What are your thoughts on Videogames and Movies modeling after one another?

Plus, if you could make a videogame after a movie, what movie would it be, or vice versa?

Oh, Pix, I remember seeing Silent Hill with you in the theater. That was awesome! You kept curling up into a little ball of trauma every time the siren went off, and I did the same with the bugs in that one scene.
I'm in the minority of people, I think, who actually like the Resident Evil movies. I think they are awesome.

I think the problem of bad movies comes from hollywood's view on gamers (o yeah they're all immauture and would pay $10 to see this for sure) and the games that they make into movies. Bloodrayne the movie? WHAT!!?!?! resident evil is a great game dont get me wrong, but it's just not meant for the movies. Something like Kane and Lynch, MGS (o btw soulscreme, that movie sounds amazing) or COD4 that has well developed characters and plot. but we would need a director who could take this movie seriously, and make it something amazing.

I have, all of the MGS games, multiple times. But I definitely think a big screen adaptation would be cool. Seeing Rex in amazing CG would be great.

An MGS movie? Just download all of the cut scenes! Then again, just play the game ;)

Man, I'm still waiting on an MGS movie. Though, if I had to write a videogame movie I'd likely do a Killer Instinct flick.

I often wonder what I could do with the rights to write a movie based on a game. Some could be done well, some not, I would kill for the rights to a Crazy Taxi movie. I could write a killer script for that.
