It took me two days to realize I had to "equip" the Rain Juju to cross the desert. This game is awesome, but I am not totally in love with the way that new information is presented.

I'm going to be writing a review of Patapon (hopefully) this weekend which will essentially say the same thing you just said: annoying as can be in the beginning, but totally gets under your skin.
