The Spit Pit vol. One
where fanboys and fangirls come to trash, thrash, and give their biased opinions about games, gaming companies, and things they know nothing about. proper english and thinking are usually after thoughts.
the rules:
keep swearing to a minimum
direct attacking of other gamervision members is strictly prohibited.
keep racist and sexist comments to yourself
off topic talking is also prohibited
no biting
more rules will be added in an as needed basis.
volume ones topic: remakes and sequels.
lets get this started. remakes and sequels... a good way for a company to bring old and loved franchises and games to a new audience? perhaps. or a easy way for a company to fatten their pockets while milking a game or franchise?
personally, i think both are equally correct and equally wrong. i love a good remake as much as the next gamer but when they charge full price for something i've already played? that's hella lame! and milking a franchise? some franchises are okay having multiple games under the same name, see nintendos art in marking awesome mario and zelda games. others? well, lets say they need to stop. how many megaman battle network games do we actually need? what about releases, rereleases, and high definition versions of games? i'm talking about you, street fighter two.
and game collections. jesus tap dancing christ! how many midway arcade classics, or konami treasure chests, or what ever are you going to throw at us? how many times will dig dug be repackaged?
ugh, and don't even get me started on butchering franchises by trying to rework them for a newer generation. namco did it was pac man, and in my opinion, nintendo also did it was metroid [prime].
i think if a company rereleases, updates, remakes.. what ever, a game, they should make it cheaper then a original game. unless, of course, the remake creates tons of new content that wasn't in the original, even then it has to be some pretty damn good content to be worth a retail game.

there are some good remakes, like though the final fantasy tactics remake for the psp is basically the same game with a higher resolution and new animations, i'm really enjoying it because i loved the PS version but it got lost so i never got to finish it.
I like a remake when its done well, but most of the time, they are not. They end up taking the original idea of the game and bastardizing it to hell. I'd rather see new games, or sequels to great games. The fact is it takes too long to get a game through development, so I just want something to buy!
it could be a group but groups are limited to those who join it
cha ching, that is all the game companies hear....
This may serve better as a group, ya think?
i hope not.
This might end badly...
