This week Xbox Live Arcade will have two new retro games added to its ongoing list of game titles.

Sensible World of Soccer is a birds-eye-view soccer game conceived in the early 90's. SWOS for short, was the first soccer game that made the attempt to incorporate all of the major soccer leagues into one complete package. Having the ability to manage thousands of different clubs and players sky rocketed the games popularity through the roof. The New York Times even went so far as to print that the 1994 version of SWOS was one of the top ten games of all time according to a Stanford Professor and his committee of four. The updated version of the game will consist of both the classic version, and a redefined high def one. This title will be available as of Wednesday of this week and will set you back 800 Microsoft Points.

The second game that will grace the XBLA is Tempest. Tempest is an early Atari hit made in the the first half of the 80's. As the player it is your duty to pilot a make-shift spaceship through sixteen different geometric levels to complete the game. Sounds pretty simple right, the correct answer is no. While piloting your ship through this "tube-shooter" you are constantly attacked by Flippers, Tankers, Spikers, and Fuseballs all hell bent on taking your extra life away from you. Sending these attackers to the spaceship graveyard in the sky is your only option for success, and is inevitably the only way to warp to the proceeding levels. Though this game comes from a simpler time of Saturday morning cartoons about Godzilla it still is worth the download. You to can now own a slice of early video game greatness for a mere 400 points.

All you "RETRO" gamers out there should be eating this up with a spoon.

It seems SWOS has a few bugs and has been removed shortly after it was released on XBLA.....so don't download it....
