The creator of the cranium crunching game know to us as Brain Age, is now helping the elderly. Professor Ryuta Kawashima is now working with Toyota to help older people drive safer. The new technology is said to monitor a drivers behavior and aid in the driving process when needed. The system is put in place to help curb such dangerous behavior as sudden increases and decreases in speed and the old falling asleep behind the wheel routine. Though this system will not completely stop bad drivers from entering their vehicle, it might just help the rest of us deal with these obstacles on the road.
"We envision future cars will be able to monitor brain and emotional activity to back up elderly drivers," said Kawashima.
Kawashima goes on to add that while he doesn't intend for this new technology to help the elderly drive forever. He says that the new system will be used more to help promote safe driving. Ultimately, he says that he would like to see cars that stimulate brain waves so that driving becomes more of a form of brain training.
These new talked about technologies are already at our fingertips. I mean there is already a Lexus that pretty much parks itself at the push of a button.
In the future I can imagine driving will be more like it was in the Will Smith film I Robot.

Can I be the co-pilot....please....
If the future is going to be anything like any Will Smith movie, I want it to be Wild Wild West. We would all drive giant steam-powered spiders everywhere we went!
