GTA IV Today!

It's hard to avoid knowing about a major release like this, especially with all the controversy around all things GTA and Rockstar. We're currently shooting our first impression of GTA IV as we speak and what I've seen so far has been pretty damn awesome. SO awesome in fact that Mike had to rush out to pick up his reserved special edition copy (it comes in a lock box!).

We have yet to take any stabs at any missions, but Sarah unlocked a 50G achievement for escaping a 4 star police chase. She was later shot down outside of the terminal that I frequently travel from at the Francis/JFK International Airport. Me? I just rocked out to some Stevie Nicks and ran over people. Oh, and I went through a few windshields. I like to keep it real.

Stay tuned to Gamervision for more GTA IV reactions. And if you're feeling creative, come up with an original slogan for Liberty City and win your own copy of GTA IV. Details here: Gamervision's GTA IV Give Away

Happy Birthday Conveyor Belt Sushi!

Conveyor belt sushi turns 50 this month! After being inspired by beer bottles on a conveyor belt, Yoshiaki Shiraishi opened the first conveyor belt sushi restaurant in 1958 in Osaka, Japan. Since then the delicious concept has spread, following the love for sushi all over the world.

There's never too many excuses to eat sushi, so head out and celebrate!

Repaired Spiderwebs Not Appreciated

Artist Nina Katchadourian took some time to appreciate the hard work of little spiders and try to give them a helping hand. She would attempt to mend and repair their webs using sewing thread but the spiders weren't really feeling it. Many times her work would be discarded by the spiders, or the webs would be abandoned. Spiders are stuborn like that I guess. They'd rather just do it themselves.

"The Mended Spiderweb series came about during a six-week period in June and July in 1998 which I spent on Pörtö. In the forest and around the house where I was living, I searched for broken spiderwebs which I repaired using red sewing thread. All of the patches were made by inserting segments one at a time directly into the web. Sometimes the thread was starched, which made it stiffer and easier to work with. The short threads were held in place by the stickiness of the spider web itself; longer threads were reinforced by dipping the tips into white glue. I fixed the holes in the web until it was fully repaired, or until it could no longer bear the weight of the thread. In the process, I often caused further damage when the tweezers got tangled in the web or when my hands brushed up against it by accident.

Portals In Real Time

Ok, these guys don't work for Aperture Science, but they are a part of Total Immersion. Using their D'FUSION software they were able to swap the images creating a portal effect like last year's infamous game. Check out the killer video by EmmanuelMFr.

Toast Wallet

Again with the toast!

Now if anyone asks you "where's the dough?" you can say "it's in the toast!"

Okay, that was lame but I'm enough of a dork to actually say something like that, granted I'd be given the chance. Do people still say "dough" anyways? I'm also enough of a dork to giggle every time I see toast in my purse. What's toast doing in there anyways? It's where I keep my dough. ZCHWING! Annnnnd we've come full circle.

Get the Toast Wallet here for $9.95.

OctoDog

Why you'd ever need to modify a hot dog, I'm not sure, but I approve this gimmick. The OctoDog allows you to transform a plain ol' hot dog into a 8 legged creature of the sea (the sea of hot dog water of course) with eyes and all. Who knows, maybe it'll help you ween that finicky little kid on to calamari!

I would be worried about going out to breakfast somewhere and the waitress mistakenly throwing out my wallet if I owned one of those Toast Wallets....
