High Speed Photography

Flickr-er nebarmix features a pretty awesome album of high-speed photography of things exploding, popping and what have you. If you have any suggestions for anything you want captured while being exploded, she'll be happy to take on your challenge.

And now for a tragic waste of PBR. Sure it's cool, but I prefer it in my tummy. Yeah, I'm CLASSY like that.

Rubber Ducky Tea Kettle

Sure, Rubber Ducky is the one. And he makes bath time lots of fun. To be quite honest, I'm awfully fond of him. Lucky for me, my best friend now comes in tea kettle form. Wow, that ducky sure has a knack for hot water. Sadly though, squeezing him isn't an option anymore, especially if he's been sitting on the stove. Sow hile he won't be doing too much squeaking anymore, you can at least look forward to a deafening whistle and some mint tea.

The Duck Tea Kettle is available from Wishing Fish for $39.95.

The Geekini

Here's an interesting way of breaking the geeky gaming girl stereo type. The Geekini concept by French designer John Nouanesing is one hell of a bikini that is bound to get a whole lot of attention from more than your average retro gamer. And yes boys, we all know what you're thinking. While I hate to state that this is an open invitation to be accosted, because wearing clothing generally isn't, but I feel like we're sending some serious mixed signals here. I mean, what do you expect when you have a d-pad on your boob?

Concrete Light Bulbs

Soon enough the light bulb will be yet another one of the many ghosts of the yesteryear household. Still, you can preserve the memories of an item that was so pivotal to a comfortable life while simultaneously exercising some of the three R's. User whamodyne set up this Instructable on how to actually create a concrete light bulb wall hook from...wait for it... an old light bulb! But if you're not feeling handy, these hooks can still be yours. Just head on over to Whamodyne's Etsy shop and pick up a bulb for $19.00. There is also a 4-pack available for $65.00.

Too bad my concrete LED project isn't nearly as useful (or as interesting).

Operation Cake

That's a damn fine rendition of the super old school game, Operation. Still, I have a strange anxiety that if I were to touch it, it would shock me. How about that...A cake that'd bite back.

A Very Imperial San Francisco

Michael Horn of San Francisco managed to capture on his camcorder something that either nobody noticed or nobody cared to point out. Yeah, San Francisco is under some serious surveillance.

Honestly, I'm not even sure if looking up to a Death Star moon would be totally awesome or absolutely terrifying.

Check out Horn's explanation over at the Official Star Wars Blog. The video itself can be watched here.

That guy blows up everything...anything you could think of. I also think he takes requests, or suggestions for different objects that you want to see exploded....

Geekini: None of us can use the excuse "I don't know what to say to her" anymore. Perfect conversation starter.

I watched that Death Star video 5 times today. It is perfect in every way.

Question: If a geek saw a girl at the beach wearing that bikini, would he be less intimidated to talk to that girl than usual, or more?

I actually really dig that Geekini, but I don't know how long I would be able to handle the comments from creepy guys.
