Chat Plates

They say "you are what you eat" so why wouldn't your dinner plate project something about you. For example a big chocolate cake would say "I'm going to regret this later." A plate of salad drenched in dressing would probably say "Healthy? Yeah, I'm only fooling myself." And of course, a plate of beans will inform others "you may want to stay away from me, later."

Designed by Ikuko Nakazawa, the Chat Plates are available from MoMA Store in a set of 3 for $45.00 (or $36.00 if you're a member).

They kind of remind of chat bubbles in different instant messengers programs, like iChat for example. Having said that, I do ask there be no lol's, jk's, or ftw's at the dinner table. Thanks.

ZipHolder - Long Live Pants!

Why is it that your favorite pair of jeans will be the first to fail on you. I don't know how many zippers that refused to function left me heart broken. I remember one pair of pants that I got when I was 16 in Paris, I tried so hard to hang on to them that long after the zipper lost its umph, I would simply safety pin my fly shut. Those were dark days of desperate fashion and poverty which I like to call being a student. As long as there have been zippers, there's been lame zippers who just can't take the heat.

Prevent ever flashing your undies with the ZipHolder. As you can see in the picture above all you have to do is fasten the small elastic loop to your zipper pull tag, and when you're pants are up and ready to go, slip the other end of the loop around your button. Brilliant! If only I had this for those Parisian pants. Before they basically exploded that is. R.I.P.

Super Foosball Table

That is the biggest foosball table that you will ever see. Whoa...

Amstel (yes, the beer) pulled this one off in time for the European Champions League Finals. They sure do love their football. If you're trying to count how many people you'd need to play this thing, I'll give you a hand (HA!). Try two football/soccer teams. That's 22 people! I would love to see a stunt for the last remaining teams to go head to head on the table before they hit the field! I'd totally show up with my pace painted like both the Spanish, Italian AND French flag and scream "GOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLL" for 3 consecutive hours.

While many are hard at work designing smaller and user friendly USB hubs, many times within another gadget, someone dared to be really progressive. Ok, a laser disc would be progressive. The video tape is just nostalgic. I admit it, I miss old cumbersome things that are past their shelf life, but there are so many awesomer USB hubs that take up a quarter of that size. Fine, I'll still give it cool props. But I want to see some laser disc USB hubs next!

Reusable Xerox Paper

An office goes through a lot of paper, being both expensive and wasteful. Xerox, being as awesome as they suddenly are now, is taking a James Bond approach to environmental issues with self-erasing paper.

The paper contains specially coded molecules that create a print after being exposed to ultraviolet light emitted from a thin bar in a printer. The molecule readjusts itself within 24 hours to its original form to delete the print, or heat can readjust the molecule instantly.

As long as you take care of your papers, each page is reusable up to 100 times. That's saving 99 pieces of paper! I'm guessing this will be an expensive initial purchase that will pay itself over time. Kind of like a hybrid but in non vehicular paper form. I'm impressed none the less. Obviously this is great for all those handouts that are useless after an hour but imagine all the fun you could have with delivering a message that will self destruct in 24 hours. Oh the things you could say AND get away with!

I love how the mass media says how bad GTA is and then uses the game to coat their pockets by using it as a topic of discussion. Conan's charm wore off for me after the first season, now he just annoys me (but thats just my opinion). The VCR USB thingy is cool as hell where can I get one for my desk????
