Now, obviously, I wasn't at the Japanese Metal Gear Solid 4 press conference.  I'm not that cool.  I'm not even kinda cool.  Hell, I probably shouldn't be allowed out of my house.  (Does that mean I'm hot, then?  Cuz that would be sweet.)  However, I did end up catching this neat little tidbit off Joystiq.com. 

At the end of the event, attendee's were treated to something a little special.  Those of you that actually care about story and want not in your Metal Gears know that there is noramally an intriguing little dialog involving Revolver Ocelot after the credits of all the games in the Solid series.  Kojima, being the cheeky bastard he is, made sure the press conference wasn't any different.  As in the games, you could only hear Ocelot's side of the hint dropping conversation, which is always just enough to have you speculate the hell out of it.  He's a transcript of what was heard pulled from 1up.com at http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3167780

It's about the sequel.

Like I said, just enough to make you go "WTF!?"  What exactly is this WTF?  Well, let's break it down.  My guess is by "last phase of the mission just is talking about MGS4 being released.  Obviously, some big announcemnt is going to be made by Kojima Productions on June 12 in the cities of Akihabara, New York, and L.A.  This could just be the tons of tie-in's the game is going to have as part of it marketing campaign.  I'll admit, I'm going to be slightly disappointed if that's all that is.  But, next comes the really interesting part....

Just what is "The Project"? Who is the man that has fallen?  Are they saying Snake is dead and this is the last in the series?  Are they saying Kojima has fallen out of doing the series anymore? (how many times have we heard THAT before?) And what's this about a sequel?  Snatchers?  Policenaughts?  Another MGS?  Or, oh, please, god, please, Zone of the Enders 3?  At this point, as I stated, all we can do is speculate....
