- My Wii Experience
- Posted About 1 year ago by peachysakura24
Since the holidays are fast approaching, and people will be beating each other senseless to get their hands on the Wii, I thought it would be fun to write a blog about how I came to get my hands on mine.
During Christmas last year and my birthday, everyone who gave me money was contributing towards my Wii-Fund. So by March, I had more than enough for the Wii and some accessories. So, I start calling around, getting the whole "No." and "Sorry, we just sold out." spiel everywhere I called. Finally one morning, after the 5th "no" someone said "yes." So, I started to say "Thank you, I'll try again tomorrow." when I realized they said yes. Yes!
It was a lovely, snowy day that day. The world was blanketed in white and was enchanting and magical looking. It was about 20 degrees outside and nippy. So I have to imagine that everyone in EB Games, wearing their warm coats, gloves, scarves, ear muffs, etc., were quite taken aback by the tornado that was me when I came charging through the door in a peasant skirt, tank top, open-toed sandals, and spring jacket, with hair flying wildly about because I cannot recall for the life of me if I took a comb to it in my haste to get out the door!
"DO YOU STILL HAVE THE WII?????," I shouted at the cashier. And they did, and so I went crazy buying things. I left there with the Wii, an extra nunchuck(I have a seven year old, so coming home without an extra set of controllers was not an option), Wii Play and the extra Wii-mote it comes with, 2000 Virtual Shop points, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
So, with my loot in hand, I opened the door to EB, much calmer and said "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! It's cold out here! What am I wearing???" Hee!
The Wii has been a wonderful addition to my happy family of consoles. Everyone likes to play games when they come over. Fellow Gamervision.com lurker, LionHeadTM, got to play Trauma Center, Big Brain Academy, and Wii Sports at a birthday party we held for our friend, Barb. Of course, we played these games playing tiaras, since it was a princess themed party, and the guys wore fuzzy pimp hats. But that's another story....

That reminds me of how I got mine... the EBGames store in the city closest to where I am got five Wiis on the release date.
Five.
FIVE.
I was, like, number 3,551,114 in the booking line. I had to send my poor dad all over the southern part of Sweden to find one and he ended up nearly having to bribe a cashier just to get one. Oh well. I got it. (Didn't get Twilight Princess for the Wii though - I got that on the Gamecube since I think it's better there).
Good story though. Thanks for sharing!
I meant to say "wearing tiaras" not "playing tiaras."
I'm jealous I want a Wii.....
Haha! Real nice. :)
awww, thats a cute tale
