 Ever thought about gaming without a visual experience? If not then try thinking about those blinds for whom each and every game is a world full of black with just a bit of noticeable sound effects, for whom their life is a difficult game to play.
We have reached till the levels of HD graphics and sounds, but it seems that we have forgotten about our friends. Numerous games have been released for the normal, but for the blinds they are so few that you can count them at your fingertips.
It is a must that some people around this world should focus on them. Although it is difficult to think upon a theme for them but we can still search out for it. Many people think that the blinds do not have a flair for gaming. It’s correct. But if we can develop a thousand games, then why not at least ten among them for blinds.
But then again a constraint arises that what type of games should we design for them. Since God has given them a weak or null sight, he has also gifted them with a powerful hearing ability. It is easily possible for us to utilize this ability. Another thing of which we can think of is utilizing their ability to recognize things by touching. It would surely not require a powerful graphics card or an integrated processor for number crunching. It could develop just as gaming began for us. Crude and simple. Tetris, Pacman, Mario, Mario Brothers, Sonic to…Crysis. May be we could achieve games like them in our near future with proper modifications for our blind friends. It just depends upon the creativity of developers.
People may come up with new ideas and they can help in providing themes on how can we engage the blinds in gaming like we are.
According to me it’s the real GAMERVISION.
