- No Sam Fischer in 2008
- Posted 2 months, 2 weeks ago by QMarc80
Hello out there in Gamervision. Today I, like many others, went online to look at multiple gaming web sites to see what's going on in the industry. Whether it's changes in a company or in a trophy set for a PS3 game I'm there to read about it.
Anyway, here's the link to the article I found at Joystiq stating that Splinter Cell: Conviction will not be released during this calender year. The game is now being said to be released at the beginning of Ubisoft's calendar year. This would mean the game would be released sometime in April (or later).
I'm a big fan of this series and would like to have it some time soon. If I have to wait for a [perfected] game I'll have to wait for it.
Anyone else not like this announcement?

@CR0SSH0LD - Good quote, but they are destorying the series all together. If you played Double Agent you would know.

Ford once said:
"If I would have asked my customers what they want, they would have said a faster horse." (And yes, I did watch the Sony Conference)
You have to keep titles fresh to keep them interesting. To be honest, I already dropped Splinter Cell after SC: Pandora Tomorrow, just because all the games were the same.
I'm not sure who I agree with more. They did construct this game with a clean slate and developed it from the ground up. Stealth is a factor, along with action, with this incarnation of the game. Although it's not night time all, or most, of the time anymore there's still a chance this will be good. Double Agent was a let-down in my eyes due to them still making the same ol' same ol' with a minor tweak. This is Ubisoft's chance to make something more.
Perhaps this will be a blunder and perhaps not. I'm most likely going to buy it right away anyway to have the opportunity to judge it properly. Who knows, maybe I'll finally write a review and actually post it when this game comes out. I always seem to delete my reviews before I post them because I think it's either not good enough or too critical of lesser things in the game.
Anyway. Time will tell for this title. Hopefully a re-engineered game is what we need for this [already great] series.
I disagree Mellow - Stealth is what make the Splinter Cell series so great and now they are taking it out and putting in more action. Hey Ubisoft if you want to make a game with more action that's fine but, leave my Splinter Cell alone. kthxbai
They next Splinter Cell looks like it will be SICK.....Ubisoft is not one to disappoint us too often. I have complete faith that they will deliver a great game that will meet all of our over the top expectations....
sorry...photographed
I heard Sam Fischer and Alan Wake were photigraphed hanging out together...
Michael Ironside is also rumored not to be the voice of Sam Fischer, too. Disappointing news there if it's true.
Not that big of a surprise with it's earlier delays, rumors and absence at E3. Sad news, I was looking forward to it.
