MX vs. ATV Untamed
Posted 10 months, 2 weeks ago by Reaper111888
MX vs ATV is over all a pretty successfull  gaming title. Untamed is the newest one. The game plays pretty well. Theres a few control problems to get used to, like the B and Y buttons do tricks in the air but the X button respans you and the rick modifier is RB which makes it akward at times to accelerate with RT and then do a rick with RB. Also, landing the ricks can be rather difficult at times too. I have gone through the entire booklet and have yet to figure out how to stop the flips from continuing after the first rotation and keep going until I hit the ground upside down.

After getting over the trick and controller flaws, we get into the actuall racing or "campaign" if you will. Like the other games, there is no story line, just straight to the point racing. The racing is pretty fun first time arround. Most events have 3 to 6 tracks to them. I know that doesnt sound that bad until you finish the first race and realize that you have to race the track a second time before it will let you move on to the next one. So all together that 3 or 5 track event has become a total of  6 or 10.To add on top of that, there is no save feature, just auto save. So while your in the middle of your 10 race event and you're tired of playing(trust me you will be) and you want to turn it off and play another game, you better make sure that you've finished what ever track your on's 2 races otherwise you'll have to do them over again. Or if you just want to do an event with only 1 track and race to it, then make sure your finished with the big 6 track event or it will be erased and you'll have to do everything over again.

Now that I'm done talking about the games flaws, I can get on to the goodthings.Like all the other titles, Untamed offers you a wide variety of vehicles to race with. Theres the obvious MX and ATV bikes, a dune buggy, sand rail, trophy truck, monster truck, and an upgrade from the golfcart of the last game(but not much of an upgrade) the ORV Sport. For the first time in the games fanchise, you can fully customize your rider and vehicle of choice, all the way down to the vehicles power and acceleration. The graphics are pretty decent and it's pretty hilarious to come down from a jump, land on an opponent and knock him off of his vehicle. The ATV and MX races get tideous and repetitive but the vehicle races are pretty fun. I havent had a chance to play any of the multiplayer but I hear good things. Maybe that will make it worth the buy. But for now, i recommend you rent it.

dont get me wrong, it really is a good game once you compare it to other MX games and it is pretty fun. even if i do get tired of the repetitive levels, unlike other games, i still want to play it after taking a break from it.
