- Classic Rock For Rock Band
- Posted About 1 year ago by Sarah
Most of the music on my iPod came out before I was born. When it comes to new artists, I’m pretty much clueless, and don’t care to change my ways. Video games aren’t the only thing I like vintage, my friends; classic rock is where it’s at. I’m also crazy about Rock Band, as we all know, and I think it’s done a pretty good job of incorporating recent releases with old-school classics. I love that I get to play the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Bon Jovi anytime I want. However, there’s always room for more.
While I’m sure everyone has their own list of songs they’d like to see made available for Rock Band, this is my own personal collection of classic rock bands and artists that deserve a shot. These are some of the greatest musicians in history, and deserve a modern-day rock revival in the form of playable content for Rock Band.
Journey
It hit me when my iPod decided to play two Journey songs back-to-back: how is it possible that there is no Journey in Rock Band? Can you imagine how amazing a performance of “Don’t Stop Believing” would be? Well, I can, so let me tell you, it would be completely awesome.
The Eagles

Some people may think of the football team, but for me it’s this band all the way. They’re definitely among my most beloved bands; “Hotel California” has been my favorite song since I was nine years old. That lengthy guitar solo at the end would be great fit for the Rock Band guitar, too.
Pink Floyd

If Pink Floyd and the Eagles had gotten together and had a child, it would have been me. I didn’t even know other music existed until I was in middle school. I would love to see the entire Dark Side of the Moon album available for download; it really needs to be played all together. There’s also a huge selection to choose from as far as singles go.
Bruce Springsteen

I’m from New Jersey, so it’s pretty much required by law that I pledge my undying love to Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen. The fact that Springsteen (or BRUUUUUUUCE!!!!, as he’s known where I come from) totally rocks doesn’t hurt either.
Led Zeppelin

“Stairway to Heaven” has Final Song written all over it. I’m just saying. If you think that choice is a little too obvious, there’s a plethora of other fantastic songs to choose from. I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing “Tangerine”, for example.
Blondie

Debbie Harry wants you to know that chicks can rock too. Nikkita and I prove this on a daily basis.
Don’t think the list ends here; I’m sure I could come up with dozens more classic rock artists and bands that would make excellent additions to the Rock Band lineup. While I may never see some of them make the cut, with weekly downloadable content being released for the game, I’m hopeful that I will someday be able to rock out to more of my favorite tunes. (That is what the kids are calling them these days, isn’t it?)

not only does debbie know of the power of rock...she also knows of the power of HOT.
and i must add: as do we.
Don't forget the band with killerest riffs evah, AC/DC. How fast would I download the Back in Black album? Really fast. That's how fast.
I'm rooting for a trombone to be added to the instrument ensemble....can you say Rock Marching Band....it just might happen...who knows....
yea i dont know how they overlooked the eagles, pink floyd, and led sepplin for rock band. its actually pretty sad when you think about it.... i would love to play stair way to heaven, hotel california, or another brick in the wall. hell or any of their other songs for that matter.
imagine the possibilities if they added some sort of keyboard to rock band...
