- What Are You Playing This Week?
- Posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago by Sarah

I don’t really have a lot to report this week as far as my gaming choices go. I am usually in the middle of some older game at any point in time, but this weekend I finally beat Final Fantasy X (again) after taking a little break from the game. I immediately went back to Civilization Revolution for the 360, and achieved a hard-earned domination victory for the first time. Then I tried to get to space, but instead I was betrayed by every nation with which I had enacted a peace treaty, which was unpleasant.
One of my gaming choices is more random: Viva Pinata, also for the Xbox 360. I don’t know if I was inspired by the upcoming sequel or the “Believe” trailer posted last week, but I’ve been itching to play this game again. My save data got completely erased a few months back while trying to move the contents of one hard drive to another, so I had to completely start from scratch, but it’s been at least a year since I played it last, so I didn’t mind too much. That game is just so silly and addictive, and I love the little “WTF!?” moments that make me wonder how they could have ever marketed the title as a game for children. (Hitting a newly-laid snake egg with a shovel to birth a two-headed freak of nature? Yeah, that’s a little messed up).
In newer releases, I plan to start playing Atlus’s Spectral Force 3 very soon, and I hope that they have fixed some of the gameplay missteps from Operation Darkness—but probably not, being that the releases are only a month apart. Still, I’m going in with an open mind, and expect to be mildly entertained at the very least. I’ve also been dabbling with Siren: Blood Curse for the PS3, and despite its $40 price tag and the nine gigs of space it takes up on my hard drive, I think it’s worth it. It’s definitely scary; I actually had to turn the lights back on because it was giving me the creeps. It’s always nice to have more games to play on the PS3, and it’s been awhile since I got into a good survival horror game.
Other than that, I'm looking forward to our weekly game of Dungeons & Dragons, which you can read more about over at the Pen & Paper Portal.

I'm slowly but surely making my way up to Deity difficulty in Civilization Revolution. I can't put this game down.
I just got a 360 and I'm messing with Viva Pinata too. I can't figure out how to sell my chiles and corn... and tell me more of the art of hitting eggs with shovels...
So much SCIV that it should be taken away from me and thrown off of the Agency Tower in Crackdown.
Seriously, take it away, it swallows my very soul!
Army of two
Well now that I'm moved into my new place and have my own room again, YAY, I can play any game I damn well want to. First and second on the list are Drake's Fortune and Assassin's Creed. Two games that I've wanted to finish for quite some time now that I will now have the privacy of defeating in mortal combat.
Only "big" game I see next week is bionic commando Rearmed ;)
I'm looking forward to Spectral Force 3, oddly enough the game is coming out this week instead of last here in Canada :/
Btw, awesome "Kali"like thumbnail picture ;)
I'll probably be playing more Soulcalibur 4 this week (cursing and cursing as I try to progess Tower of Soul) and Persona 3:FES (so close to the end, then it's "the answer")
If you want to play a few games online at SC4 ring a call ;) (I'm not too good at it, actually I'm pretty bad)
I will be posting more record scores on Geometry Wars. Watch out Coop and 00.19!
Is there a game coming out next week? I wasn't aware. Must be some little title that slipped under the radar.
Trying to finish Siren... other than that I'm just waiting for next Monday night's big release.
