- Bobby Kotick to EA: You Guys are Soul Suckers!
- Posted 2 months, 1 weeks ago by Sarah
Ever since last year’s constant bicker-fest with Harmonix over plastic guitars, Activision has gotten a bit of a reputation for acting like a teenage girl. Apparently, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick is happy to keep fueling that image, because the man putting Peter Molyneux to shame by sticking his foot in his mouth constantly is now going after publishing giant EA.
As we all know, EA is currently in the middle of its world domination plan, having taken over many game studios as well as several planets. According to Destructoid, Bobby Kotick is none too pleased with this, having said that EA “did a very good job of taking the soul out of a lot of the studios it acquired.” Those are some fierce words coming from the CEO of a company that has eaten a few game developers for breakfast as well.
Part of me really wants to agree with Kotick, but on the other hand, I know that EA could buy and sell me in a second, so I’ll keep quiet. Still, it’s always amusing to me when the video game industry turns into a high school soap opera. Next week: Bobby Kotick gets kicked off the cheerleading squad, of which EA is, naturally, the captain. Stay tuned!

I think this is a case of Rock Band envy gone terribly wrong...
I think what irks me about the whole EA thing, is that it came right after the CEO saying they were beyond the time of mergers and acquisition. Then not 1 month after that, they buy Bioware and now they're trying Take 2.... (Yes, beyond big merger.... and I was gullible enough to believe that)
