- Ex-Sony Exec Joins Marvel Comics
- Posted 5 months, 2 weeks ago by Sarah
Comic book publisher Marvel is having a big year in the entertainment industry. Several of their properties have highly-anticipated video game and movie versions releasing in the coming months, and Marvel is beefing up its Digital Media department. More specifically, Marvel has just hired Ira Rubenstein, a former Sony executive, Joystiq reports.
Rubenstein was in charge of the digital distribution of casual and mobile games during his twelve years at Sony Pictures. His previous credits include Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, and mobile titles Spider-Man 2: The Hero Returns and Ratchet and Clank: Going Mobile. He will serve as the executive vice president of Marvel’s Global Digital Media department. I guess that means we can expect cell phone versions of Iron Man any day now.

I really hope this doesn't mean that digital comics will replace actual paper ones. That's my greatest fear. That and certified mail.
