Guitar Hero: On Tour Set List Announced
Posted 4 months, 1 weeks ago by Sarah

The Guitar Hero series has been cast aside by some gamers ever since the release of the infinitely-better Rock Band. Activision has been scrambling to get people to pay attention to their music franchise ever since. Instead of going with, say, more DLC for the games it already has out, they’re releasing two non-sequel Guitar Hero games this summer. In addition to Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, we’re also getting Guitar Hero: On Tour for the DS.

Activision has just announced the full set list for On Tour, and if you were starting to think that maybe this wasn’t the worst idea ever, you may want to take a look at the list. It won’t take long, as there are only fifteen songs. A few of them are okay, but that’s about all I can say.

OK Go – “Do What You Want”
Blink 182 – “All the Small Things”
No Doubt – “Spiderwebs”
Jet – “Are You Gonna Be My Girl”
Twisted Sister – “We’re Not Gonna Take it”
Smash Mouth – “All Star”
Nirvana – “Breed”
Rick Springfield – “Jessie’s Girl”
Pat Benatar – “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”
Maroon 5 – “This Love”
Los Lonely Boys – “Heaven”
Bloc Party – “Helicopter”
The Doobie Brothers – “China Grove”
(As made famous by) KISS – “Rock and Roll All Nite”
Daughtry – “What I Want”

I know this is only a DS game, but when you’re paying $50 for a game and peripheral, I would assume you would want more songs than you can play in an hour. Sure, I’d love to see “Jessie’s Girl” make it over to Rock Band, but I have absolutely no desire to play it on the go. Also, I could gladly go the rest of my life without ever hearing that annoying Maroon 5 song again. I was honestly kind of curious about this game, but the tracklist is making me think that it’s just not worth it. Anyone else still excited about Guitar Hero: On Tour? I think I’m out.

Fifteen songs... wow, the must be awesome be cause there's such a small number. Wait... Smash Mouth? More Nirvana? Maroon 5? Daughtry? Are you kidding me Activision. I guess I shouldn't REALLY be surprised after seeing what they did to my beloved Tony Hawk series. Who'd've thought the score would be 2-0 in EA's favor...

That's enough songs to fill a four or five hour car ride at least.....

15 songs? That's it? I won't buy it. I was excited, but now I'm not.

$50 bucks for 15 songs? Sounds more like Guitar Hero: Prologue to me...
