- Is Guitar Hero: Van Halen Coming?
- Posted 10 months, 1 weeks ago by Sarah
With the immense and consistent success of Rock Band, former music-genre-dominating video game series Guitar Hero needs to think outside the box to keep people interested. Apparently, this means releasing Guitar Hero installments consisting of music relating to a single band. With Guitar Hero: Aerosmith already on the way, what could possibly be next?
Well, if Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has anything to say about it, Guitar Hero: Van Halen could be on the way. At a conference on Monday, he spoke about the Guitar Hero franchise, which has been a big money-maker for the company, and the future of the series. Apparently, he wants to appeal to consumers of all ages, even “six to eleven year old consumers, who are being exposed to Aerosmith for the first time or Van Halen for the first time”.
I’m sure there are people out there who are plenty excited by this possibility, but personally, it’s going to take a little more than Van Halen to tear me away from playing Rock Band. If this was Guitar Hero: David Bowie we were talking about, it might be another story. For now, I’ll stick to Rock Band’s downloadable content when I need something new to play.

Van Halen or Van Hagar?
I'd rather have free DLC but, I guess you take what you can get.
