James Patterson to Make Video Game
Posted 9 months, 1 weeks ago by Sarah
If you’re not familiar with the name James Patterson, don’t be alarmed. He’s one of the last people that might be expected to be associated with the video game industry. A former advertising executive turned best-selling author, several of his books have already been adapted to film, and his Women’s Murder Club series has made the move to television. Now he wants to branch over into the video game industry, adapting the soon-to-be seven-book series into a casual game that can be enjoyed by all of his fans.

The tentatively-titled “Women’s Murder Club” game will feature hunt-and-seek gameplay challenges to solve puzzles and find clues, all set against the original murder mystery storyline. It’s being developed by Jane Jenson, an industry veteran; formerly of Sierra Online, she was also behind the classic Gabriel Knight series. Patterson believes the combination of good gameplay and an already-popular title will make this one appealing to casual gamers. He is especially looking to reach a female audience, as his fanbase is overwhelmingly female.

As the game is early in development, there’s no word yet on any kind of release date. However, it will be interesting to see if the award-winning author and the experienced developer can put out a game that will appear to any potential gamer.
