- Metal Gear Solid 4 to Have Limited Edition
- Posted 8 months ago by Sarah
Metal Gear Solid 4, due out in June for the PS3, is easily one of the year’s most anticipated games. So it doesn’t really come as much of a surprise to hear that the game will have two versions: the regular old $60 one, and a very special Limited Edition, as a Gamervision source reports today.

The Limited Edition will go for $85, which is definitely a little pricey, but worth it for any die-hard fans of the Metal Gear series. The extra content includes two making-of documentaries, an interview with Hideo Kojima, creator of the series, four chapters of the Metal Gear Solid graphic novel, and a copy of the import soundtrack.
If that doesn’t sound like enough of a deal, customers who reserve the Limited Edition at GameStop will also receive an exclusive art book. That sounds pretty snazzy to me, but then again I’m a sucker for Limited Editions. If you are too, or if you just can’t get enough Metal Gear Solid, this might be the one for you.

If there's a cardboard box in the Limited Edition I MIGHT consider getting it...
I just bought myself a Metal Gear Solid 4: Masked Otocamo Snake Action Figure. That will be my extra content.
This seems like the type of game that many will value for the extra content. I'm not that die hard for MGS but Final Fantasy...bring on the special edition :)
is it too much to ask for a Bandana in each case?
It's not a waste to people who are huge fans of the game. In that case, any extra content is usually a good thing. I've had my collector's edition GTA IV reserved since last year!
Unless they come with figurines, in which case not buying them is insane. BioShock was a perfect example. 10 dollars extra got you the Big Daddy of Limited Editions.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Limited Editions are a waste.
Still not excited. Who knows, though, I might be blown away...
The soundtrack sounds good. I might grab it just for that.
