New Mario Kart Wii Info!
Posted 11 months, 1 weeks ago by Sarah

Waiting anxiously for the (supposed) April release of the newest installment in the Mario Kart franchise? Me too! Now that the release date is creeping closer, more and more information about the game is slowly coming to light. It finally feels like this game is really on its way.

Want tracks? Oh, you’ll get them. 32 of them, in fact, half of which are brand new. The other sixteen will be remade classics from the past Mario Kart games. Okay, maybe new tracks are kind of a given, but if I remember correctly, you’ve never been able to do mid-air tricks before. Mario Kart Wii is including these, and if done correctly, you’ll get a boost of speed upon landing. That will certainly add a new edge to the competition.

Mario Kart Wii is also keeping up with the times by including 12-player online matches, four-player split-screen, and Mii integration. Now there’s no excuse for not having someone to play with. The folks over at GoNintendo also noticed green and red A and B buttons on some of the screen shots… could this mean Gamecube controller compatibility as well?

We’ve still got a couple of months to go until we can actually get our hands on this game, but it looks like this spring, Wii owners will really have something to cheer about. Mario Kart appears to have just the right balance of classic content and new material to keep everyone happy.

I'm excited to watch my Dr. Phil Mii blow the doors off all the other racers.
