Review Scores By Publishers
Posted 9 months, 1 weeks ago by Sarah
So, I tend to bash EA for no real reason other than the grudge I hold against the Madden NFL series. I’m sorry, but three years of working Midnight Madden-ness events and having to deal with the Madden zombies who flock to GameStop in droves will do that to a person. As Coop pointed out, EA is also behind some of the highest-rated games in recent years, but hey, I’ve never been one to base an opinion on the facts.

EA, however, loves facts and figures when they work out in their favor. As Kotaku pointed out today, EA put together a neat little graph to show the average review scores of some major publishers. Surprisingly enough, EA is near the top, with an average review score of 72%. Not so surprisingly, Nintendo and Sony show that their first-party contributions are much, much better than the third-party crap that appears on their systems. This is further proven by the appearance of Ubisoft at the very bottom.

As always, though, I’m going to take these figures with a grain of salt, especially since it doesn’t favor the biased opinions I have. It’s pretty interesting that self-proclaimed #1 publisher of 2007, Activision, is sharing the ratings bottom with Eidos and Ubisoft. And where is Capcom? I find it hard to believe that their games don’t make it past a 60% average.
