Skate It Headed for Wii and DS
Posted 6 months, 1 weeks ago by Sarah

There's no denying that EA's 2007 hit Skate really made the skateboarding video game genre feel new and fresh again for the first time since the now-stale Tony Hawk first arrived on the scene. Naturally, EA wants to continue this success with the release of another skateboarding game, this time called Skate It, which will be released on the Wii and DS systems.

According to the game's executive producer, Scott Blackwood, the "it" in Skate It refers to "rails, pools, ledges, banks, mega-ramps, gnarly downhill streets." The same development team that worked on the first game will be bringing this one to Nintendo's systems, and implenting their unique controls in some way. Also, the Wii version will also make use of the not-yet-released Wii Balance Board, better known as the peripheral that comes with Wii Fit. That's either going to be really cool, or really dumb. We'll kind you informed.

I never was a Tony Hawk fan, and seeing a title as unique as skate come up was a breath of fresh air. I'm not impressed that easily and I don't have high hopes for the Wii Fit board part of it, but anything can happen.
