- Sony Delays Skype For PSP
- Posted 11 months, 3 weeks ago by Sarah
As gamers, we’re no strangers to things getting pushed back, be it games, systems, or other programs. However, what’s not as common is something getting delayed the day before it’s supposed to launch. This is exactly what happened with Sony’s Skype service for the PSP, which was supposed to launch tomorrow in Japan along with a PSP microphone.
Sony’s press release stated that “the microphone did not meet the Skype specifications in part to obtain certification.” What I’d like to know is why were they just figuring this out the day before the launch? That seems like incredibly sloppy work to me. At any rate, Japan won’t be using the service on their PSPs tomorrow, and no new date has been given for either the microphone or the service.

I think they probably knew they had a problem but they set a date so they just tried to pull it off.
Finally we get something before Japan does. According to Kotaku.com: "Western users, you're OK, as Sony have told us this "will make no difference to the European and USA launch, which will coincide with the end of January firmware upgrade"."
