- Square Enix Mistranslated, No FFXIII in 2008
- Posted 11 months, 1 weeks ago by Sarah
Okay, maybe I never seriously believed that Final Fantasy XIII was coming to any continent this year, but for a brief moment in time, there was a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, they would deliver a mind-blowing next-gen game in a timely fashion. Alas, it was never meant to be.
Apparently, a mistranslation was responsible for the news story, and Square Enix has come forth and called out those errors in this statement:
"Any reports of a confirmed release date are erroneous and should be disregarded. Square Enix will make an official announcement in the future concerning the release date when it has been determined."
So… sometime before 2010 then? 2012? Guys? Anything? Damn.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Phoenix - Nice name.
Gee-darn-it. Sure, I was sceptical... but still. Weirdly enough, the nearest EB Games had a plaque up that said that FFXIII would be out in June or something... and since Sweden gets games circa a century after you guys, that is odd indeed. Oh, well. I still want a PS3. Now I'm just not in that much of a rush.
