- What Are You Playing This Week?
- Posted About 1 month ago by Sean
This week has me playing a few holdovers from last week, but I'm also going to try out a few new releases. And before I tell you what's going to be on the rotation this week, I need to say (in the interest of full disclosure) that I have not yet played Metal Gear Solid 4. It's not about a hater thing, it's not about an anti-90-minute cut scene thing (although...), it's just about not having the time to dedicate to such an intense and drawn-out story. Hell, I still haven't even finished Mass Effect!
Anyway, this week will find me playing a goodly amount of GRID. My team, PS Racing, is currently somewhere in the low 300s in terms of our reputation, and I will not be satisfied until I get that as high as I can. I'm also a quarter of the way to the "Roll Your Car 20 Times" achievement.
I'm also going to keep on playing the Lego Indiana Jones with my darling wife on the PS3. We've been doing the co-op thing and I am hell-bent on getting 100% completion. Point of interest: if you're looking for a good barometer of how strong a relationship is, there are few metrics that can provide the results of a session of co-op gaming in which one of you has the potential to kill the other repeatedly.
Gamefly has graciously sent me Secret Agent Clank, so I'll get some PSP face-time in this week. I love this series, and I am excited to see what Clank can do on his own.
I also picked up Battlefield: Bad Company for my 360 today. I am not terribly excited for the inane babbling I've seen in some cut scene videos, but I love me a well rendered 'splosion.
And while I was in my local game retailer, I also picked up Guitar Hero: On Tour for the DS. Again, I wasn't amped over the chance to play this one, but the fact is that someone was going to pick it up, so it might as well have been me.
So what about you: what are you playing this week?

Battlefield: Bad Company Baby......
I will be playing your copy of GH:OT so that if it sucks, you wasted your money...not me :P
I'll be playing FFTA2 on the DS, unless my new computer shows up this week. If that happens I'll be playing the "Install Windows and all of my anti-spyware and virus blockers" game, which is very entertaining and may or may not include multiple 90 minute WAIT times!!!
Also made the mistake of trying GH:OT on the DS. The songs are for the most part awful and the spot in the touch screen that acts as the strum bar is near microscopic, leading to many missed notes. I would have thought better of it if I didn't have to play Hit Me With Your Best Shot for the millionth time...
My goal this week is to finally put Drake's Fortune to bed. I also want to get much further in Final Fantasy VII. I want the satisfaction of beating Sephiroth with Cloud and the gang as soon as I can so that I can say "I DID IT! I KILLED THAT MOFO!"
On the lighter side I'm enjoying Hot Shots for the PSP. I played online yesterday and got my butt handed to me on a gold platter. Yes. I was THAT much out of my league. Besides, I just started playing it a few days ago.
Zack & Wiki for me =)
I've found myself playing more COD then anything else. GTA doesn't have my interest anymore so I am not sure what to do with it. This week has been so busy, so I really haven't had a lot of time to play games.
Sigh... I'm going to have to try out your Guitar Hero: On Tour. I really have no choice.
Also, I decided instead of playing Persona 3 again, to pop in Final Fantasy X for the first time in 4 years. Just woke up one morning with a random craving for it, it's the damndest thing. Just won my first Blitzball league game, too!
Hot Shots, always Hot Shots, either on the PS3 or PSP.
Also, will be checking out Operation Darkness to see if it lives up to the Atlus name. I think it has potential.
Working on expert drums in rock band. Still have Dead on Arrival and the Kiss song on the 8th tier. Might play a bit of Metal Gear Online and possibly do some exploring in GTA IV. My two big releases, MGS4 and GTAIV are completed. Though MGS4 will get many re-plays.
TriggerHeart Exelica on my Dreamcast, Grid on my Tree-sity, Brawl on the Wii, and WildArms XF on my PSP.
I'm getting a japanese copy of Tales of Symphonia 2 for the Wii as soon as I can too.
more hot shots and mlb the show... hell i may even jump back into GTA IV since I'm still on the second island.
