This week Sony seems less than content to wait until Thursday to release big news. Maybe they're just so excited about their awesome addtions, or maybe it can be chalked up to trying to steal thunder away from the release of the NXE. Either way, the PlayStation blog has been aflutter with news, mostly of LittleBigPlanet DLC, of the awesome (TV head) and not so awesome (LocoRoco arms) variety. Now there is word of a level creation contest with a prize that will only be granted to "a talented few". That prize? A rare Prize Crown to adorn the head of your favorite Sackboy or Sackgirl. Take a gander:

To celebrate the second anniversary of the PS3, Sony is running their LittleBigChallenge: Happy Birthday PS3. Here's the rules:

1. Create an original LittleBigPlanet level celebrating the PLAYSTATION 3 second anniversary.

2. You must name your Level using this format. “LBC1 -< YourLevelNameHere >”.

3. Publish your Level to the LittleBigPlanet online server at any time up until 11:59am PST December 9, 2008 when the contest closes.

4. Send an e-mail submission to community_support@playstation.sony.com and indicate your level name (LBC1 - < YourLevelNameHere >) in the subject line. Include your PlayStation Network ID along with the name of your Level in your e-mail submission.

Personally, I have less than any faith in my own level creation abilities to get anywhere near winning this prize. That's not to say that I won't give it a shot, hell, I like pretty sparkly things, and I like winning. Chances are that there are people out there with a better shot than I have to snag that pretty bonnet. Will you be entering?
