Preview - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Posted About 1 year ago by Sean

Star Wars. You can't go two steps these days without seeing or hearing something about this cultural phenomenon wrapped in the shell of six movies. The post office, San Diego Convention Center and video stores the world over are once again (or still) caught in the throat-closing grip of Vader, Luke and all the rest.

This has always been good news for gamers. Rogue Squadron had us flying alongside Porkins, Bounty Hunter gave us a Madolorian's point of view, and Battlefront put us right in the thick of it all. But as great as some of these games are/were, one thing that has always been lacking in the protagonists of LucasArts games has been use of the Force.

You remember the Force, right? It's that energy field created by all living things, that surrounds us, penetrates us, and, you know, binds the galaxy together (give or take a few hundred thousand midi-chlorians...). Well, if you're anything like me and the rest of the Jedi wannabes, you've wondered how one learns to master the Force.

Well, beginning February 1st of next year, owners of PS3 and Xbox 360 will finally get to find out what controlling such power actually feels like by playing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Watch the following video if you're not already drooling enough.

They say it very clearly in the video. This is a game where you get to "kick people's asses using the force." Enough said.

Please to enjoy:

I just picked up Republic Commando and that could be the coolest Star Wars game yet. I hope this one captures how bad ass it would be to be a Jedi.

The Lego Star Wars games are alright, but they just don't compare.
