i found a copy on gamefly for Earth Defense Force 2017, is this the game you mentioned i should try?

Stoked is definitely not bad, a whole lot better than Shaun White. It's not exactly the type of snowboarding game I usually go for (I looooooove the SSX series, especially SSX Tricky), but I'm digging it. I haven't gotten sponsored yet, so I still have a ways to go before I'm ready to give it the full review. (Damn late games).

As for Star Ocean, the first hour or so was almost completely dull and un-fun thanks to a battle tutorial that tries to make you learn every aspect of battle immediately, instead of as you go along. My first impressions were not good, and I thought, how am I going to get through this whole game? But it's gotten much more enjoyable. Not my favorite RPG on the 360, but solid... of course, like Stoked, I still have some time before I've played enough for a review. Right now I would say hold off on buying it, if you're really itching for a JRPG rent it to see how you feel about the battle system.
