- My first encounter with the Xbox 360 Ring of Fire

So, last night was a night like most others. I spent some time with my girlfriend, watched the season finale of Californication and did a few hours extra work and then tragedy struck.
The girlfriend was off to bed and I decided to stay in the living room to watch 28 Weeks Later(she hates scary movies). Now, in my living room, my 360 is my only means of playing DVDs. The DVD player currently resides in the bedroom and I haven't gotten around to buying another for the living room. So, I popped the DVD in and waited for the menu to come up. Once it showed up, I notced the background was not animated and felt this was strange. Most DVDs now have some sort of animation or music or something, but not this time. I thought this was wierd, but ignored it and pressed the button on my controller to connect it to the system. Blink. Blink. Blink. Blink. Blink. Blink. Blink. Blink. Blink. And...the blinking didn't stop, so I decided to restart the system. Thats when it all went horribly wrong. Nothing came up on the screen at all. Blank screen. No Xbox menu, no DVD menu, nothing. So i resarted it again. Still nothing. I figured I'd try one more time, and then...I threw my hands in the air, turned my closed, tear filled eyes to the heavens and cried "Nooooooo! Why?! Whyyyyyyy?!". The ring of fire had come for a visit to my humble home. So, you may be wondering what the hell I did, or...you may not be. Either way, I ended up watching the movie on my laptop with headphones. Not quite the experience I was going for, but a good movie in my opinion.
So, the moral of the story? I have no fucking idea, but I do hate Microsoft right now, and I need to call them to get this fixed asap.
Garrrr! I shake my fist at you Microsoft!

My 2nd box just got ringed again. Was working fine I put skate in to play it gets to the loading screen box freezes, reboot, red ring of death. Did all the troubleshooting tips once again still ringed. Now i have to wait a fucking month to get my box back when assassins creed and cod 4 come out. what luck.
I know this is off topic but Californication is such a good show I watched the entire 1st season in on monday it was amazing. Sucks about your red ring of death, even if your xbox started working again I suggest sending it in anyway i'm on my 2nd box now.
I am on my third 360 and it is about to take a crap on me. The sad part is that I am just going to go buy a fourth when its time. (i voided the warranty) Oh well....
Hopefully it is covered under the red light of death clause of your agreement with the devil. I just got one of my 360s back from Texas, they told me the one I sent them was unfixable and sent me a new one six to eight weeks later. Think of this as just being another perk of being a 360 owner....
Wow... my 360 is my only means of watching DVDs in the living room right now too. My player is also in my bedroom.
