Playing first person shooters or any shooters for that matter is quite an experience. Playing online you meet quite a cast of characters, peoples of all different nationalities, ages and cultures. It's always fun to see how these people play. Think I can't steryotype the typical gamers I play? no, most fall into several catagories. Some like to grab something little and fast so they can run around and shoot you from 3 feet away, Others like to grab a Sniper Rifle and camp at the farthest corner of the map. Here are some of the playing types I've seen poeple use while playing online:

The Shotgunner

 Though they may not always use a shotgun, these people will grab something that kills people (or aliens or zombies, ect.) most effectively at close range. They will Ignore all orders or objectives, and simply run in loops around the map killing anything within in stabbing range. Playing Call of Duty 4 you'll find these guys in any of the building on the map with a Sub-machinegun (usually always its a P90). In socom, tehy'll be carrying around a shotgun. In Battlefield; spec ops kits. They'll be in any game you play.

The Annoying commander

Though there may not actually be a commander in a game, there will always be atleast one guy on your team that loves to shout orders and inform you of everything  that is going on in the battlefield. Most of the timee everyone's better then him yet he still finds the need to lead you all to victory via shouting through his microphone. A helpful hint is fine every now and then. But hey buddy, turn your mic down a tad and worry about improving your own score.

The Camper

It dosen't matter where everyone else is fighting, this guy wont move for anything. Although most of the time it will be a sniper sitting in the corner of the map. Sometimes he stands next to a doorway waiting for you to come in. sometimes he's that A**HOLE who SITS NEXT TO A RELOAD BOX AND THROWS GRNEADE AFTER GRENADE INTO THE STAIRWELL SO THAT YOU CANT TAKE FLAG 4! (sorry. bad battlefield 2 memories) These guys are some of the worst on your team ( hence using cheap tactics), they dont have a mic, but  they do help if your defending something. Otherwise, I hate these guys. The best remedy is a hefty dose of grenades.

The Artists

Watching these guys play is always fun. They really dont have any particular tactic, thay are just good some how. They have luck and use it. They flow flwlessly from kill, to kill, to reload, then to more kills. there really isn't much to say, they're usually the MVP of all the games becuase they are good.....somehow. I envy these guys becuase No matter what i do, they win and kill me. maybe I dont have have luck when it comes to these games.

The Noob

The game may have come out a year ago but this guy on your team jsut go it and needs to learn everything. It's ok to be new, but somehow they are still comepletely Oblivious to what is going on around them. Heck, even poeple who have played a game for a long time are still this way. Their game usually consists to running up the middle of the road dieing, respawn. running down the middle of the road. Dieing, respawn. Its not even that this guy is bad, its that he's stupid. I love how at the end of a tema deathmatch, its 49 to 49, we tell everyone on the team not to do anything stupid and yet miraculously this guy is seen sprinting down the road.... and gets sniped. mission failed. what a noob.

The Tacticionist

This guy knows what he's doing. He can tell you the best ambush spots, places to snipe from, o where to flank. I love to hang around these guys in matches becuase you can learn a lot from them. 3 landmines + 4 sticsk of C4 in Battlelfield 2: Modern Combat = IED. also, getting 4 or 5 of these guys together can be the best way to wreak havok on the other team. Grab the C4, these guys have work to do.

 The most annoying person ever

Microphones and teamspeak are not meant for everyone. Sometimes , I guess, when these guys are alone they dont really understand that other people are trying to play the game and making annoying sounds, and\or rambling on for minutes at a time can make you go insane. also these people tend to be team killers.

Team Killers

They kill people on your team. what more can you say about them? everyone hates them. Though i find myself being this person if people get too annoying. I once murdered an entire squad of frenchman in a 1 hour defend game wht 20 minutes left. Yes I would have gotten an achievement, but when they learned that i was an american and the insults started flying, I got the last laugh with a grenade to where 6 of them were lying down. HA!

The Support specialist

There are people who help you online??? Yes believe it or not there's always the nice guy who comes along with a nice pack of grenades when you need it most. my hat goes off  to you man.

this has just been my online experience. im sure some of you reading this have played some interesting folks online. Please, share your stories.

The Glitcher

The guy who has no skill at life and only roadie runs or rocket-swords their way to a cheap, talentless victory. I won't lie to you though, its fun to have one on your team when your loosing really bad. In Battlefield 2142, when out titan was about to be destroyed we had a lgitcher make it so that the one silo we had control of lauched a 2 missles every second (it normally launches every 2 minutes). Otherwise, dont snitch... I mean glitch.
