Call of duty 4. It's finally here. At first I wasn't that excited about getting it, but i figured everyone else would get it and it did look pretty cool. I opened the box, put it in my Xbox and began to play it.

From the beginning of the campaign you are put through a tutorial, which was actually helpful and fun (if anyone beat that challenge in 20 seconds or less, you got my respect). The first level has you storming a ship full of terrorists with a hidden surprise inside. I immediately notice how great the lighting and motion effects are. Your squadmates move like they would in real life, and the frame rate is the best i've seen on a game yet. Although the single player wasn't as long as I hoped, it was challenging, fun and non-stop action for each level. They do change it up a bit, so not every level is running through gunning down the whole town, some are stealth mission, even a level where you get to control an AC-130 "Specter" gunship. The enviorments where spectaculor, and realistic. Weapons felt and handled as they should, and nothing ever feels too powerful or useless (pistols come in handy sometimes).

(those 2 guys, are about to have a really bad day)
I also began to play the multiplayer and quickly ranked up. The maps load surprisingly fast, and each map was beautifully detailed. These are well balanced maps, and unlike my Halo 3 online experience, you won't have too many moments where your out of your chair screaming at the TV that there is no f***ing way he just killed me. The create a class is what makes the multiplayer really shine. Depending on how you play, you can choose your gun, side arm, special grenade, and perks. So if your like me, you might choose a shotgun with grip so there's no recoil, and an M1911 and some stun grenades as well as stopping power, martydom, and steady aim so that im great at close range battles. If your a sniper? choose the M21 with woodland camo, silenced pistol, some claymores, iron lungs, and deep impact to rack up those long range kills. It's all about how you want to play. Best part, you have 5 slots to save 5 different custom classes. All the unlocks are pretty evenly spead out, and it's so rewarding to see what your hard work has been for something good (M60! wahoo!!!) Also kill streaks unlock temporary items to help you further the kill count. 3 kills- Uav to see the enemy. 5 kills- airstrike. 7 kills- a helicopter which mows down anyone on the other team that's not under cover. The people I've played with have been pretty friendly so far, and I've found it pays to work as a team. This game has to have had one of th greatest multiplayer experiences out there. And this combined with a solid single player makes Call of Duty 4 on game that's worth $60. My advice, get it now. 10 out of 10

i haven't finished it yet. just passed the stealthy flashback level. i am VERY impressed with this game.
nice review,I was thinking about writing one but I guess you beat me to it.I played through on veteran,it was hella tough but I finally beat it.The game definitely gets a 10 in my book.As for the multiplayer ,the last couple of days were plagued by non connecting games.I heard that the east coast severs were hacked on the XBL....
